THE CREATION
Le Jardin de Monsieur Li eau de toilette evokes a Chinese garden, somewhere between the real and the imaginary. A place of meditation where strolling and thinking merge. Perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena tells the story of a fragrance dotted with flowers and water, trees and rocks.
THE OLFACTORY NOTES
Floral and planty, Le Jardin de Monsieur Li juxtaposes delicate sambac jasmine, tangy kumquat and lively bergamot in a harmonious accord.
THE OBJECT
Designed by Fred Rawyler, the bottle is inspired by the lines of old-fashioned car lanterns. The glass of the bottle is enlivened by a delicate gradation of yellow, a nod to the imperial colour in Chinese tradition. Painted by artist Li Xin, a river of ink in a thousand shades of anthracite adorns the box.
ETHICS
The bottle is filled using the 200 ml eau de toilette refill. A gesture, inseparable from an object created to last.
THE GARDEN FRAGRANCE COLLECTION
The Parfums-Jardins collection is the result of a meeting between the soul of a place, the inspiration of the perfumer and the theme that Hermès chooses each year to illuminate its creation. It's an olfactory journey to be shared at every moment, for fresh, dreamy, escapist tastes.
"I remembered the smell of the ponds, the smell of jasmine, the smell of wet stones, the smell of plum trees, kumquats and giant bamboo. It was all there, and even, in their pond, carp that took the time to become centenarians." Jean-Claude Ellena
The Garden of Mr Li tells the story of a Chinese garden, somewhere between the real and the imaginary. A place for meditation, where strolling and thinking are one and the same, where every step frees the imagination.
