THE CREATION
Created by Christine Nagel, Hermès perfumer, Un Jardin à Cythère is a surprising garden, neither green nor flowery, but... blond. The expression of an olfactory quest through the Peloponnese that leads to Kythera, a preserved Greek island that has inspired many artists.
OLFACTORY NOTES
A citrus and woody fragrance, Un Jardin à Cythère combines the enveloping character of grasses with the strength of olive wood and the tenderness of fresh pistachio.
THE OBJECT
Designed by Fred Rawyler, the bottle is inspired by the lines of old-fashioned car lanterns. The glass is animated by a luminous yellow gradation, echoing the sunny fragrance. On the box, the artist Elias Kafouros sketches a colourful landscape of his native land: the golden grass, the green of the olive trees, the pink of fresh pistachios and, in the background, the blue of the sea.
THE GARDEN FRAGRANCE COLLECTION
The Parfums-Jardins collection is the result of a meeting between the soul of a place, the inspiration of the perfumer and the theme chosen by the House of Hermès each year to illuminate its creation. An olfactory journey to be shared at any moment, for a desire for freshness, reverie and escape.
